A courtroom exchange between a defense attorney and a farmer with a bodily injury claim. Attorney:"At the scene of the accident， did you tell the constable you had never felt better in your life?" Farmer:"That's right." Attorney:"Well， then， how is it that you are now claiming you were seriously injured when my client's auto hit your wagon?" Farmer:"When the constable arrived， he went over to my horse， who had a broken leg， and shot him. When he went over to my dog who was all banged up and shot him. When he asked me how I felt， I just thought under the circumstances， it was a wise choice of words to say

I've never felt better in my life."


변호사와 상해보상을 요구하는 농부의 법정 대화. 변호사:"사고 현장에서 경찰관에게 전혀 다친 데가 없다고 말했습니까?" 농부:"그렇습니다. " 변호사:"그런데 이제 와서 내가 변호하는 분의 차가 당신의 마차에 부딪치면서 당신이 중상을 당했다고 주장하는 건 어찌된 일입니까?" 농부:"경찰관이 와서 다리가 부러진 내 말을 보더니 그 말에게 총을 쏘더라고요. 다음으로 엉망으로 다친 우리 개한테 가더니 또 총을 쏘지 뭡니까. 그리고 나를 보고 어떠냐고 묻기에 그 상황에선 말을 함부로 해서는 안되겠다는 생각이 들어 전혀 다친 데가 없다고 했던 겁니다. "
